Install in five minutes
- Unzip this download. You need
zen-popup-announcements.sppkgfrom the folder. - Open the SharePoint admin center, then More features > Apps > Open to reach your tenant App Catalog. (No catalog yet? SharePoint creates one the first time you open Apps.)
- Upload
zen-popup-announcements.sppkgto Apps for SharePoint, tick Make this app available to all sites and choose Deploy. - Edit any modern page, choose + to add a web part, and pick Zen Popup Announcements from the Zen Systems group.
- Open the web part settings (pencil icon). Under Data source press Create the list on this site; the list is created with the right columns and sample items. Edit the items to make it yours.

Add-PnPApp -Path .\zen-popup-announcements.sppkg -Scope Tenant -Publish -SkipFeatureDeploymentRequirements: SharePoint Online (Microsoft 365). No custom scripts, no Microsoft Graph permissions and nothing for an administrator to approve beyond deploying the app.
Shows active announcements in a popup when the page opens. Each announcement has a date window, rich text, an optional image and an optional button, all managed from a SharePoint list.
Features
- Date-bound. Each item has a "show from" and "show until" date; blank means open-ended.
- Rich content. Formatted text, an attached image above the text, and a call-to-action button.
- Several at once. Readers page through announcements with previous/next and a counter.
- Remembers dismissals. Show again on every visit, once per browser session, or never again for those items.
- Invisible on the page. The web part takes no space; only the popup is visible.
- Preview while editing. Turn on the preview toggle to see the popup in edit mode.

Attach an image to the item to show it above the text.

Will readers see it every time? You decide: every visit, once per session, or once per browser.
